Year 8 Feedback

Feedback from some our happy Year 08 pupil intake -

Rian McCormick

My name is Rian McCormick and I am in 8F2. For the first few days I felt a little nervous since this school is larger than my old primary school. Soon though I felt much better, and with the help of my new friends, class mates and teachers I started to find my way much easier. This is a great school to come to every day. My two brothers also attend this school. I really like doing PE and Art the most. The school also has a great canteen for break and lunchtime.

The summer scheme helped me to fit in very quickly to my new school. If you chose to come to this school I would recommend that you do the summer scheme. I have made many new friends and my new teachers and subjects are great. My favourite subjects are art, home economics and religion.

I really like my new school. My big brother is already a pupil here and he told me about the great sports teams and their successes last year. I like the variety of subjects that I am learning and I especially like the practical subjects of Home Economics, Science and Design & Technology. The teachers here are very friendly and work very hard to get the best results for us.

The main thing I like about my new school is that the teachers here are so nice. If anything is wrong you can tell someone and it is sorted out really quickly. This school has a great atmosphere and I have made some great friends and had great experiences here so far.

I really like my new school because of all the help that year 08 pupils get to settle in. First of all I attended the summer scheme - it was great! When I started school in September the teachers and all of the staff were there to help us with our timetables and moving from class to class. In no time we knew where we were going for our next lesson. We also had a great day with Young Enterprise and our parents were invited to a milestone evening to help us settle in as well.

I feel that St Patrick’s & St Brigid’s College is the best school that I could have hoped for. I visited lots of schools on their Open Nights and this school was my favourite. All of the teachers are lovely and the school is not so big or difficult to get used to.

I like this school very much. Moving from class to class, from subject to subject is really good. We get a triple PE lesson every week and get to learn science, technology and home economics. I have made a lot of new friends and think this school is brilliant.

I am really enjoying my new school.  It is a big change from primary school but it is a good change. The teachers and the pupils are great. My sister has just left here with great exam results and my brother is in Year 10. I like all the new subjects and it is nice to have different teachers and classes for these and other subjects. I think you should come to Open Night to see what a great school this is. The work is not very hard and the teachers are always willing to give you as much help as you need. I have made many new friends here and you will too.

I like my new school very much. Ms Harvey is my form teacher. Recently I was made the Form Captain of 8F2 and it was a great honour. The teachers and the staff here are very nice and they will make you feel very welcome. I hope to see you all next year at this great school.
