- We are presently developing the role of the School Council.
- It allows the pupils’ ideas and opinions to be expressed and heard.
- Pupils are invited to stand for election to one of 20 seats on the School Council.
- The newly elected members are elected to serve as form class representatives for one or two years.
- Meetings take place 6 times per year whereby pupils highlight issues that have been raised in their form groups, following discussion in council these are then reported back to the form groups during PSE time.
- Past successes include, female pupils proposed changes to the school uniform which were taken on board and are now reflected in the school skirt.
- In the future, we hope to further develop the role of the School Council by working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Governors to recommend policy changes.
- The School Council is led by the Assistant Principal (Pastoral Care).
