Collective Worship
Jesus said ‘Where two or more of you are gathered in my name, there I am also’ (Matthew 18:20).
We gather with Christ at the start of every day both as staff and pupils, at the beginning of every RE lesson and regularly throughout the year in keeping with the liturgical calendar.
We have whole school masses throughout the year and also have liturgies to mark important times in the Church calendar.
We make use of a wide range of media, resources and environments including our beautiful local parish church next door as well as online liturgies.
In addition, pupil leaders plan, prepare and deliver service on a theme each half term.

As required by law (Education & Libraries (NI) Order 1986) and DE Circular 2026/09 we provide Religious Education (RE) and Collective Worship. Parents/guardians may withdraw their child, fully or partially, from RE and/or Collective Worship. The department's standard withdrawal form (Annex A to Circular 2026/09) is available from the school office to enable parents/guardians to exercise this right. Pupils withdrawn from RE or worship will remain in the class and will engage in quiet, independent study or reading.
We also recognise that the parent/guardian has the right to withdraw their child from the RSE programme if they wish to do so. If you have any concerns or would like further information on the teaching of the RSE programme, please contact the school.
